POLYAMIDES

Generic name: Nylon

Solvents: Phenols and phenol/chlorinated hydrocarbon mixtures.
Relatively unaffected by: hydrocarbons, esthers, ethers, oils, concentrated alkalis.
Decomposed by: concentrated mineral acids, halogens.
Combustion: melts, darkens, finally burns with a small flame, easy to extinguish,
giving a white smoke.
